Yas! I wanna share tips How to go to Macau by Ferry from HonngKong. As all you know, i went to Hongkong-Macau last holiday (july 2016). Actually, deep inside my heart i wanna make a travel diary about that holiday, but unfortunately (because something happened) i can’t make a travel diary-so sad AF. But, i can still share my experience during my holiday with travel guide issue.
Macau is called the Asian Las Vegas (casinos, luxury hotels, etc) and there are so many good places for tourism , besides it located not far from
Hongkong so i decided to visit Macau on my last holiday. The easy way to go to
macau from Hongkong is by Ferry. So ya, i will share to you step by step how to
go to macau by ferry from Hongkong Airport.
First of all i wanna tell you :
- this post is based from my own experience.
- This travel guide will guide you from HK international Airport to Macau ferry terminal.
- I didn’t use SKYPIER. Skypier is airport ferry terminal service that provided and located in HK international aiport. So if you want to use Skypier you dont need to out from immigration and it means that you dont need to take your baggage/luggage. Because i’m a risk-averse and anxious person, besides the skypries is more pricey i decided not to use skypier.(you can googling about skypier by yourself)
- I write this post as easy as i can, so you can understand what i mean.
Here we go !
1. Immigration.
Remember that we're not using the
skypier. So you need to out from immigration and take your baggage.
2. Tourist Board &
Information.
There is a Tourist Board near the
way out to Arrival waiting hall, and some information desk
spread in the airport. you can ask with english or chinese the staff will
answer your question fluently.
3. Exit to mainland transport.
Look for the signage ‘exit to mainland
transport’ it will guide you to bus station. Yes, we gonna take bus to the
ferry terminal.(you can take MTR to Sheung Wan station exit D and go to Shun Tak Centre, but personally i recommend to take a bus than MTR if you bring many baggage.)
4. Buy the bus Ticket.
You need to take bus number A11. You must buy the ticket at the locket or using the octopus card. it
cost 40HKD per person.
5. Shun Tak Centre, (another name for the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal)
Queue the bus A11 line and wait until
the bus come. Remember, you need to go to Shun Tak center. Shun Tak Centre is the
4th stop.

6. Ferry Ticket
After you arrived in Shun Tak Centre, go to 3rd floor, and search for the ticket counter. There are many kind of service and company that provide the ferry and you should to pay
attention to the departure time and the price. HK-Macau and Macau-HK ticket
price will be different.

7.Prepare your ticket and Passport.
prepare your passport, and you need to fill the form for the imigration concerns.
NB: The trip will take about 60 minutes.
TIPS:
- Buy octopus card, octopus
card will very helpful while you in HK. You dont need to buy the bus ticket,
just tap with octopus card. (buy in 7-11 or MTR station)
- Always pay attention with
the signage and ferry time sailing.
- Use the free shuttle bus during in Macau (Hotel Facility)
- Ask. asking is the easy and simple thing to get the right way.
